For Mother’s Day we headed down to Valdez. It was May so we figured we would camp, but when we checked the weather before leaving the forecast was calling for rain and snow. Welcome to spring in Alaska! We decided to just embrace it (we are, after all, used to cold and snow in Fairbanks), but it was so. cold. We set up camp in a nice drenching rain and had a couple of really cold nights, but it ended up being my favorite Mother’s Day yet. I shot a couple rolls of film while we were hanging out in our campsite: these are the results. The film used is Kodak 100UC (expired) in 120 and Lomography 100 in 120, shot on my Mamiya C330 medium format camera.
